Moms making money with PLR
I’ve been in your shoes. I bet you’re trying to build your blog so you can be a stay at home mom while still contributing financially to your household.
Or maybe you’re just a kick-ass mama who wants to share all your knowledge and make parenting a little bit easier for the next new mama-to-be.
Either way, we mom bloggers need to stick together. So as someone who has turned that work from home dream into a reality (yay, me!) I want to help you do the same.
Let’s dive into how you can use PLR products to help you reach your blogging goals!
What is PLR?
PLR stands for Private Label Rights. Those rights allow you to purchase a pre-existing item (content, digital product, etc.), customize it, and market it as though you created it.
Simply put, you pay for the right to sell someone else’s design as your own.
How does PLR work?
Once you choose and purchase a PLR item, you download and modify that item to suit your needs. Or more specifically, the needs of your ideal audience.
You can change it to match your brand colors, add your logo, change the content, or simply use it as a template to get your digital product started.
Some PLR products could include checklists, journals, articles, eBooks, graphics, coloring pages, planners, and so much more.
Essentially, PLR provides a shortcut for content or product creation.
For mom bloggers looking to add digital products to their blog for extra income, this is a huge time saver.
Is selling PLR profitable?
Yes, selling PLR can absolutely be a profitable venture for mom bloggers. By investing in PLR to create high quality products your audience will love, you can create a whole new income stream.
The cost of purchasing PLR is relatively inexpensive. Especially when you factor in that you only have to buy it once but the potential of earning from it is endless.
Not to mention how much time you can save on the actual design process. Time that you could spend on creating more blog posts, or even better, spending time with your kids!
And you can do this over and over again until you have an online shop full of digital products bringing in money while you sleep!
Imagine creating a product you could sell for $20. Sell two a day = $40/day. That adds up to an extra $1200/month! From just one product. What if you had many products?
What sort of products should I make?
Tailor your PLR products to meet the needs of your mom blog audience. Create content that resonates with busy moms – checklists, meal planning guides, self-care resources, coloring pages to keep kids busy, journals, planners, and organization hacks.
Here are a few examples of ready to purchase PLR products I think would work well if your audience is other moms:
Think about what challenges your readers face, find an appropriate piece of PLR, customize it, ensure it provides value, and offer it for sale. OR learn how you can use it as your opt-in freebie to grow your email list!
How to sell your PLR content:
Once you’ve created your product, you’ll want to create a simple online shop to handle delivery and transactions. I find Sendowl is great for beginners as it’s very affordable and not overly complicated.
Next, you’ll want to market your products to your ideal readers through blog posts, social media, Pinterest marketing, email marketing, Etsy, etc.
You might even choose to create an affiliate program so other bloggers help you promote your products.
Make sure your product is truly helpful to your followers. A product that addresses and solves their pain points will sell best.
Is selling PLR legal?
Yes, selling PLR is legal, provided you follow the terms and conditions set by the PLR seller. Always review the license agreement to understand the rights and restrictions associated with the PLR products you purchase.
I go into further detail about this HERE. Including how to copyright your new products.
Can I sell PLR products on Etsy?
You can definitely sell PLR on Etsy. Again, you just have to follow the terms and conditions. Etsy specifically doesn’t allow you to purchase PLR and upload it straight to Etsy and sell it as your own.
Because Etsy has a handmade only policy, you have to customize it and make it unique to you and your brand. Which is really easy to do so this should not be an issue.
Starting an Etsy shop is actually a great way to reach a broader audience outside of your blog readers.
