More ideas to grow your travel blog

Prepare!
Now is also a great time to pre-write blog posts for when the travel ban is lifted. Take this opportunity to get future content written and ready to promote when the time comes.

Make lots of Pinterest pins for the new posts and have social media posts drafted and saved. If nothing else, this is the perfect time to get super organized.

OR go ahead and publish posts that aren’t relevant now, but will be. This way you’ll get the posts indexed and get Pinterest pins out there for future searches.

Maintenance
Update your old blog posts. Make adjustments to your blog you’ve been meaning to get to. Update plugins. Ensure your blog is legally compliant.

Basically, get yourself super prepared for the glorious time when this unprecedented time is finally over!

Be Productive
Work on other projects you’ve not had time for.

Create a YouTube channel if it’s been on your To-Do list. Create freebies/printables for your audience. Make Throwback posts on social media. Beef up your email marketing and pre-plan your newsletters. Create new pins for old blog posts.

There are always things to do to get ahead.

Branch Out
Join blogging communities and Facebook Groups. Make friends with other bloggers in your niche. Help each other out by sharing posts, pins, and engaging on social media. Maybe write guest posts for each other.

Keep Going
Most importantly, don’t give up. Don’t stop and wait it out. Push forward and get creative.

I’m sure it’s so frustrating to watch your traffic (and income) tank. But this is only temporary. Do a little bit each day to grow your travel blog so you’re ready to hit the tarmac running when this is all over!

I hope you got some helpful travel blog post ideas to keep you going until this is all over.

You’ve got some great tips here! This whole situation has been so challenging for many bloggers, but especially those in the travel niche… It can be difficult to find inspiration to keep posting when you’re no longer engaging in the very activity that inspired your blog. However, as you show here, there is still a lot that bloggers can talk about!

Hi, you just gave me quite a few ideas for posts. Thank you! I have been posting about photography now. My blog always was about travel and photography, and since I cannot post about travel I’m focusing now on photography, this was my solution. However, I can’t wait to go back to my travels.

Thank you so much for this post! I decided to start my travel blog during the pandemic… Great timing, right? Lol! But I figured that this would be a good time to work on building my blog from the ground up + meeting fellow travel bloggers before the traveling really ‘takes off’. Plus, it is pushing me to be creative + really find my niche instead of just posting about places I’m going/want to go. This post gave me some great ideas! Thank you for sharing! xx
