Choosing SiteGround for Web Hosting
If you are thinking about starting a blog, or if you already have one but are unhappy with your host, I’m going to fill you in on why SiteGround is your BEST option for web hosting.
Read on to learn why SiteGround clients have a 99.7% “Happiness Rate”.

Why I use and love SiteGround for hosting my website
#1 – SiteGround’s Customer Service
I am so impressed. SiteGround’s customer service is AMAZING! They’re actually kind of famous for it.
It doesn’t happen often, but I have had to contact them for help on occasion.
The support I received was outstanding. You can request a phone call, ticket, or live chat, 24/7.
In their own words, “We overstaff all shifts so that there is always someone to pick up the phone or online chat, so you don’t have to wait more than a few seconds for the next available operator.”
I love their Live Chat feature. I don’t think I’ve ever waited more than a minute for someone to respond to a chat request. You are almost instantly connected to a customer service rep. This is what you can expect to see when you request a live chat:
The reps are friendly and helpful as they tell you how to fix your issue and most often will even offer to do it for you while you wait.
If you aren’t happy with how the chat is going, you can upgrade to a senior rep (I’ve never felt the need to do this, btw). But it’s nice to know the option is there.
When you are done, they even email you a transcript of the chat. So if they’ve given you instructions to do something you can refer to the transcript in your email and follow the steps they outlined.
#2 – The Convenient Set Up
If you don’t have a blog or website yet, SiteGround is a fantastic place to start. You can sign up for hosting, choose your domain name, AND install WordPress all through SiteGround.
This means you can actually have a functioning site in minutes! It’s a one-stop shop for creating a website.
If you already have a site but want to switch to SiteGround, they’ll do the site migration for you. The service is free on the “GrowBig” or higher plans. If you are on the StartUp plan it’s a one-time fee as low as $30 and they’ll do all the work for you!
#3 -The price of hosting
Below is a screenshot of the SiteGround hosting plans. The pricing is competitive with other hosts. But you get a lot more bang for your buck.
If you are just starting out and aren’t ready to invest a huge chunk of money yet, the StartUp package is very reasonable at $2.99/mo.
P.S. Hosting is on sale for 85% off this Black Friday week!
#4 – SiteGround’s securityÂ
The security team takes threats to your site very seriously. They offer many security features for free and also offer additional but affordable features as well.
I personally use the SG Site Scanner. The last time I renewed it and the cost was $1.65 per month. Which works out to just under $20 per year. I have NO desire to lose all my hard work to hackers, so to me, that is a very worthwhile investment.
SiteGround also does a daily backup of your site in case of data loss, hacking, or human error. They automatically save daily backups and keep 30 copies on your account. This is invaluable!
I speak from experience.
Once I was editing a bit of code (and I knew it was risky to do this). So I took the time to download a plugin that does quick and easy back-ups.
I created a backup and went ahead and edited the code.
I ruined my site! Instantly. It was a total mess!
Frantically, I went to my plugins section to restore the back-up I’d just created. The restoration failed. I tried several more times in a panic, with no success.
I logged into my SiteGround account and found the option to restore my site. The last backup SiteGround had done was that same day, 3 hours earlier. With the click of a button, my site was back to what it had been just hours before! Phew! Talk about relief.
Money well spent with SiteGround hosting!
#5 – The Features
There are so many great features. But I have to start with SSL, which stands for “secure sockets layer”.
It creates a secure connection between a company’s server and the web browser of the site visitor. Basically, it creates a foundation of trust and Google really likes sites that use SSL certificates. So trust me, it’s a good thing. And SiteGround includes it for free. This is a feature you often have to pay for with other hosts.
Other features include:
• 30-Day Money Back Guarantee
• Free Email
• Free Daily Back-up
• WordPress Auto Updates
• Support 24/7
• Free WordPress Install
• Unmatched Site Speed and Uptime
If it’s not already obvious, I personally use and highly recommend hosting through SiteGround. I can’t say enough great things about them. And I’m not alone. They are trusted by the owners of over 1,900,000 domains!
Clearly, a lot of other people love them too. Including WordPress, which is saying a lot. If you are using a WordPress site (please do) you can’t go wrong with the host that WordPress themselves recommends. See SiteGround’s banner below:

Gagan – WebhostWinner
There are so many choices to make when it comes to blogging. A good web host is one of the most important decisions you can make.
I used to have Bluehost, and I will never EVER recommend them to anyone.
After a year of bad experiences, I finally decided to switch to Lyrical Host and have had great experiences with them.
I have heard of Site Ground before and have heard good recommendations by some long time bloggers. I didn’t realize Site Ground offered such great prices for their services either!
Had I known the prices and value are so good, I would have started with them from the beginning! I wish I had seen this post years ago!
I’ve heard nothing but bad things about Bluehost. I use Siteground for my hosting and any client I help get set up and I have never had any reason to switch to another 🙂 Thanks for the comment!
